Quality Design and Build housing developments are a hallmark of JHB LTD.

We currently have several projects confirmed with the local Housing Association (Hjaltland Housing Association) including 11 flats and a creche at Scalloway, Shetland, 3 semi-detached blocks at Gulberwick, Shetland and 3 semi-detached blocks at Burra Isle, Shetland. Photographs of these will appear on the "Under Construction" pages as they progress. Previous Design and Build projects include:

'Atlaness, Hamnavoe, Burra'

The completion of six houses at Atlaness, Burra in July 2002 is the fourth design and build contract JHB LTD have completed for Hjaltland Housing Association. Together these four projects comprise a total of fifty six dwellings in Lerwick, Scalloway & Burra

The development of 4 two bedroom and 2 three bedroom houses was completed in July 2002.

'Millgaet', Lerwick,

A development of 7 three bedroom houses and 12 two bedroom flats constructed on the site of a disused factory.

This development has been extremely well received and drawn much praise for the highly effective utilisation of available site space in such an aesthetically pleasing manner. In addition the contract was completed in just over nine months, nearly four months ahead of schedule.

'Lowries', Ladysmith Road, Scalloway

Completed in June 1999 this 8 flat Design and Build development was constructed on the site of a former shellfish factory.

This development named 'Lowries' (after the former proprietor of the site) was again completed well within the contract period, and has attracted considerable praise for the imaginative manner by which the difficult site was developed.

'Bells Place', Gilbertson Road, Lerwick

A ten apartment development adjacent to 'Millgaet' was completed in July 2000.

This development was constructed with assistance from the Scottish Homes low cost home ownership scheme. All are fitted with kitchens and bathroom suites with shower, and are wired for TV and satellite installation.
